Julie Mayers of Silk Designer Dresses is a highly regarded dressmaker with 25 years of experience in the field of bespoke occasion wear. Julie has been established at 161 New Road, Skewen for several years and has built up a reputation for high quality service throughout Wales and beyond.

Julie is classically trained in theatrical and historical costume design, and also in corsetry. Julie was recently featured in the Vale and Valleys Life Magazine where she was commissioned to create bespoke Wedding, Bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride dresses by Chantele and Jonathan of Neath who wanted a Art Deco themed black and white wedding, Channtele says " I had always wanted a black and white wedding with a vintage feel and the art deco era lent itself very well to that. Luckily mum and I are both quite creative so we were able to make all the stationery, table centres and the bridesmaids' jewellery and hair pieces using materials bought on eBay. I also designed all the dresses with the help of Julie Mayers"
